Life at the Hagen Hut

Ryan got his first time out last week for a major “Safety Violation”. He was always the quiet one. I’ve always been told to look out for the quiet ones and now I know why. Lately he has been climbing on everything. I couldn’t help but to get a picture before. I guess when you are vertically challenged you do what you need to get what you want! Justin just smiled while he was in time out and then when he got out the first thing he said to him was “Ryan now you have to serve time out for me now.”
Justin has turned out to be our mother hen around here. He always looks out for the boys telling me that Darin’s crying, hungry or something with Ryan. It’s not always like this and some days it’s a thin line between mother hen and a WWE match at our house. Lately, he has been helping with the laundry. I will start it and he will throw the clothes in and I will lift him to hit the buttons. He really likes it and I love having the helping hand. Also, we are teaching him to clean up after himself and he enjoys sweeping. I loved this picture he cleaned until he wore himself out. Last night he wanted to hold Darin and I put him in his lap. Then when he started crying he yelled that he needed a bottle and that he wanted to feed him. I did let him feed Darin and he really liked taking care of his brother. Darin looked at me like I had lost my mind. He just needs to be a little more gentle when it comes to burping, but in all he did a great job! Darin turned 2 months old last Friday. Time has really flown by. He is a little porker and even when he was sick nothing can stop this baby’s appetite. I think I finally figured out the difference between having a preemie and a full term baby! Darin weighed in at 14 lbs and 1 oz and 23 inches long. I had to laugh when I put him in Justin’s lap, he even said “Darin your getting so heavy”.
Paul wanted me to include these. Knitting is the one hobby that I enjoy and it relaxes me. The kids used to take my yarn and wrap it all around the house now I figured out a way to knit around the kids. The motion makes Darin fall asleep, while Ryan likes to sit in my lap and hold on to my hands while I do it. Also, I found another way to multi task I was feeding Darin and Ryan bumped his head and was crying. So what do you do in a case like that.....this is how you accommodate.

Ryan looks so cute and proud sitting on the table. :-) And I love the picture of Justin on the couch after cleaning. It sure does wear a person out.

I like the picture of you multitasking. It's funny how you really learn to do that when you have three little ones. I got pretty good at holding one baby while rocking the other in their car seat on the floor with my foot when they both were crying at one time.

Yes, we where a little nervous looking at Justin feeding Darin and looks like Ryan is reading to them. Looks, like the next time you need a babysitter Justin and Ryan have it under control.LOL That is good they all seem to be helping one another even through the good and bad. I guess Justin is thinking finally somebody else besides me is getting time outs. Love all of you. No, excuse now for you not finishing those projects. I am still looking for my excuse; I guess I need to get busy. Love, Greenie and Papa

Hi Tammy...wow Darin is getting BIG! That's great. Fat babies are happy, healthy babies! :)
