The Stork has Arrived

Darin Michael Hagen was born last Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 10:29am; he weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and 20 3/4 inches long. He was just a few days shy of being full term. We were so fortunate that Darin didn't have to spend any time in the NICU and we both came home together on Tuesday. He was born with a cleft lip and he will be accessed by a group of doctors on December 11th. If you all could keep him in prayer, we would greatly appreciate it.
The night I went into labor the doctor wanted me to head up to the hospital to be accessed. I was a little uncomfortable but nothing was too regular, but since Ryan came so fast we didn't want to take any chances. As we were heading there Paul asked do you want me to hit every bump along the way. He had me so tickled with his own American Express commercial - $50 front end alignment, $5 parking fee, Baby Boy priceless. Now if we could sell that one we would have college covered for at least one!
When we bought Darin home his brothers were so welcoming to him. That Wednesday I had made cupcakes for Justin to share with his AWANA friends to celebrate his new brother. We were all getting ready and he asked Darin if he wanted to come with him that they would have a lot of fun. Both of the boys are really excited to have a new little guy in the house.
Justin had been asking how many babies we were getting. When we bought Darin home he said I thought we were getting one baby. I told him we did Darin was the baby. Then he looked at me so funny and said Darin is one and then points to my swollen tummy and says there is another Darin - TWO. I think he will be the one to keep me on my diet!
We all went on our first outing today to the doctors office. What a crazy day it was. Getting the kids to the car was like herding cattle. We finally got all settled and headed to pick up Greenie and Papa. I wasn't that brave for my first outing and I had to call in reinforcements. We all got to the office and the nurse called the Hagen's. We all got up for the appointment and the waiting room was clear; the nurse had that deer in headlights look and was more frazzled then I was. Justin got his flu shot, Ryan had an ear infection (our first child to go on antibiotics), and Darin was seen for some congestion to make sure he was okay. When I went to check out I realized that I forgot my wallet. The guy checking out smiled and said with all those kids if you only forgot your wallet then your doing good. Thanks to Greenie and Papa for helping out today - I bet they will sleep well tonight! :)

Yes, today was an adventure but wouldn't trade the boys for anything. Just sorry they are not feeling well. The best part was we did come back with all three and didn't loose anybody. Hopefully, it won't be long before they are feeling good again. Love you kids! P&G

Congratulations! What an adorable little guy. I'm so happy to hear that he is taking a regular bottle. That is wonderful!

It won't be too long before you are out and about with all three by yourself. The first time is the tough one and then it gets easier. :-)

I love the picture of Ryan peeking over at his baby brother. And Justin looks very proud.
